Small Groups

What are Small Groups?

Small Groups are designed to connect like-minded people so that they can care for one another and experience life together.  Most groups represent 8-15 people who meet on a regular basis to talk, laugh, serve and grow closer to God and each other.  Based on the model of the church in Acts 2, Small Groups are where we learn and apply what God is teaching us, share common interests, and enjoy life together.  Small Groups are commonly hosted in group member homes, but may also meet in restaurants, meeting rooms, and other practical locations.  Small Groups are communities where people are supported and encouraged to live out their faith in Christ.

What Small Groups are currently meeting at GracePoint?

There are currently 14 different Small Groups meeting together regularly all around the Palmyra area (Palmyra, Hershey, Annville, Cleona, Lebanon, Myerstown, Hummelstown, Hershey, Elizabethtown, Middletown, Harrisburg). Some groups are multi-generational while others are mostly comprised of people in the same life stage.

Does every GracePoint Small Group have the same format and focus?

All GracePoint Small Groups share a common vision to love, learn and lead, but each one is different and unique in style and format. We encourage you to contact us to find out more.

How do I get involved in a GracePoint Small Group?

There are a number of ways you can get connected. If you know someone who is participating in a small group, ask them how you can get involved (Space may be available in their group). If you would like to join a group during the fall kickoff, let us know and we will help you find a group. If you are looking for more information, contact the ministry leader. We will follow up with you about group options and timing.

What if I visit a Small Group and don’t feel comfortable?

Not every group is a good fit and there is no reason to feel badly. We are focused on helping people connect to others and grow in their faith. Groups are encouraged to reform each year and participants can comfortably change groups during this time.

Can I contact a Small Group leader to find out more about their group?

Yes – Small Group leaders are available if you would like to know more.
